They say dreams that you have while sleeping reflect your secret desires or hidden fears in the waking world.

Used to have many dreams when I was younger. They kept recurring and seemed to have a common theme. Decided to do a little research on them (:

Dream #1: Im being chased by a bear up a hill. Halfway up the hill I meet an old woman. I run pass her. When I turn back, I see the bear sitting obediently in front of the old woman while she scolds it for running so fast. After the old woman finishes scolding and walks away, the bear gets up and continues chasing me.

Interpretation: To dream that you are being chased signifies that you are avoiding a situation that you do not think is conquerable. It is often a metaphor for some form of insecurity. In particular, to dream that you are chased by an animal represents your own unexpressed and unacknowledged anger which is being projected onto that animal.

Interpretation: Bears represent dangerous emotions such as anger and aggression.

Dream #2: Im being chased by a black cat. It always almost bites me. I run up an escalator and into a haunted house. I wake up just as I step into the haunted house. (Thank goodness! Swear I will die of fright if I had to explore the haunted house in my dreams)

Interpretation: To see a black cat in your dream signifies much misfortune, treachery, and bad luck. If the cat is aggressive, then it suggests that you are having problems with the feminine aspect of yourself. Alternatively, you may be expressing some fear or frustration especially when something is not going as planned

Dream #3: Im being chased by a lion – not a real lion but those that the Chinese use for lion dances during Chinese festivals. The lion chases me through a crowded shopping mall. I run to the toilet and lock myself in a cubicle. I sit on the toilet bowl and lift my legs up so the lion wont see me. But it always finds me. It opens the door and I wake up.

Interpretation: Lions usually signifies anger, desire to hurt, aggressiveness; or fear of these feelings in others or ourselves. We may feel fear of our own anger due to it threatening injury to others and also due to it devouring our other feelings and desires.

Interpretation: Hiding from something dangerous reflects feeling threatened either by unconscious contents or an exterior situation.

Dream #4: I walk along a cliff. I walk right to the edge and then fall a really long distance down. As I hit the ground, I wake up.

Interpretation: Falling is an indication of insecurities, instabilities, and anxieties. You are feeling overwhelmed and out of control in some situation in your waking life. Alternatively, according to Freudian theory, dreams of falling indicate that you are contemplating giving into a sexual urge or impulse. You maybe lacking indiscretion.

Dream #5: Im in a semi-conscious state. Im not awake but I haven’t drifted into a deep sleep yet. Whenever I’m in this state, I know I can dream about anything I want and I can control it. But halfway through I start to lose control of my dream and something scary always happens.

Interpretation: Having difficulties staying in flight indicates a lack of power in controlling your own circumstances. You may be struggling to stay aloft and stay on course. This represents a particular obstacle or person who is standing in your way in your waking life. You need to identify who or what is hindering you from moving forward.

Apparently I am harbouring a lot of insecurities and anger inside me. And have feminine issues and unsatisfied sexual urges (:

Oh just found out that I always appear as the ‘stupid one’ in both of my younger sisters’ dreams. In one dream, while my sis and I were running away from a demon, I suddenly stopped, walked toward the demon and yakked with it. In another dream, my sister and I were in a room. There was a zombie outside trying to push the door open and get into the room. While my sis was busy holding the door back, I was lying on a bed and reading a book.

It’s funny how we didn’t start off on good terms. Remember how you used to DREAD going out for lunch with me? You even had to resort to SNEAKING out of the office just to avoid me! Now, we meet for lunch every week!

You know. It’s the little things. Struggling through OT with you just to earn that teeny-weeny bit of OT pay while we were in BV. Sitting by the Singapore River with you, not talking, yet feeling truly comfortable. Smuggling Gloria Jeans hot chocolate into the cinema with you, then spilling the hot chocolate all over your bag, and then trying to wipe the stain off. Having those small little talks with you to tide through the late night study sessions we have while we were in dorm. Planning trips to New York to watch the musical broadway with you. Crying infront of you. Fighting with you. (Have never cried or had such a serious fight with any other friend before ok!)
